On 2 March 2026, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman signed contracts with representatives of civil society organizations from the Republic of Croatia whose projects were selected under the 5th Public Call for Proposals for the Financing of International Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid Projects.

The selected organizations will implement non-commercial project activities in recipient countries of official development assistance, in accordance with the rules of the Development Assistance Committee of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD-DAC). The projects will be carried out in Ukraine, the Republic of Moldova, the Republic of Albania, the Republic of Zambia, the Republic of Senegal, the Republic of Uganda, the Kingdom of Morocco, the Republic of Kosovo, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

This Public Call continues the multiannual support provided to civil society organizations in the implementation of development and humanitarian activities. In the period from 2021 to 2024, a total of 38 projects were contracted under four previously conducted calls, thereby reaffirming the long-term commitment of the Republic of Croatia to promoting solidarity and balanced global development.

The minister expressed his appreciation to the organizations for their dedicated work, emphasizing that their engagement contributes to building a stronger global community, while Croatian official development assistance, implemented through their projects, achieves tangible and long-term results. In his address, he highlighted the international recognitions received by civil society organizations for projects financed through public calls: the “Amber Heart” award, presented to Đurđa Adlešič of the association Croatia Helps by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, as well as the Intercultural Achievement Award 2025 of the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs of the Republic of Austria, awarded to the Boranka project of the Scout Association of Croatia in the Sustainability category.
