Consular employee of Croatian Embassy to the Hague present at extradition of Ante Gotovina to ICTY
A consular employee of the Croatian Embassy to the Hague was present today, 10 December at 1 PM, at the extradition of retired Croatian Army general Ante Gotovina to the ICTY, and was allowed to speak to him for a short time
The consul told the general that the Embassy will offer all of the usual and necessary consular and legal assistance, both pending the Court’s expected status session and during the whole procedure.
General Gotovina asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration to transfer his message to the Croatian media not to disturb his family.
The next meeting between a representative of the Croatian Embassy and general Gotovina is scheduled for Monday, 12 December 2005, when the general might appear for the first time before the Court’s Council.
