Canada ratifies Protocol on NATO Enlargement to Croatia

As stated by Canada’s Minister of National Defence Peter MacKay during his yesterday’s visit to Croatia, thanks to the two countries’ good relations, Canada has sped up the process of ratifying the Protocol on the NATO Enlargement to Croatia and completed the process of ratifying the Accession Protocol.

By doing so, Canada became the 17th of the 26 NATO members to ratify the Protocol, following Hungary, Latvia, the United States of America, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Turkey, Norway, Denmark, Spain, Estonia, the Czech Republic, Italy, and the UK.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration welcomes Canada’s ratification, believing that Croatia has proven its international credibility as a reliable and active partner of the NATO Alliance.
