Bilateral consultations held between Croatian and Austrian Ministries of Foreign and Internal Affairs in Vienna

Bilateral consultations between the Ministries of Foreign and Internal Affairs of the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Austria were held at the Austrian Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Vienna

The Croatian delegation was led by Assistant Foreign Minister Svjetlan Berković, and the Austrian by Head of the Division for Legal and Consular Affairs of the Austrian MFA Christian Berlakovits.

The consultations reviewed Austria’s experience in consular affairs before its joining the EU. The two delegations discussed co-operation in consular affairs, the implementation of the Schengen Agreement, real estate acquisition by foreign citizens, legal co-operation, and co-operation in migration and asylum provision. The two delegations also reviewed the co-operation between the two countries’ police forces in fighting organised crime, as well as the co-operation in border control and visa regime regulation.
