Assistant Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Dubravka Plejić Marković 3 September held political consultations with Alejandro Negrin, Director General for Europe at the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The talks revolved around the two countries’ political and economic relations, as well as cultural and scientific cooperation. Both sides underlined the importance of the EU-Mexico strategic partnership, which should be utilized to strengthen cooperation between Croatia and Mexico as well.

Plejić Marković discussed the effects of Croatia’s EU membership, the situation in Ukraine, Central and Eastern Europe, as well as Croatia’s role in the Euro-Atlantic integration of the region, while the Mexican side outlined its view on the situation in Central and Latin America.

The interlocutors also talked about multilateral cooperation and global issues, notably in the context of Croatia’s EU membership, as well as about Mexico’s efforts to strengthen bilateral relations with European states.
