A delegation of the Danish Parliament’s European Affairs Committee visited Croatia as part of their regional tour

A delegation of the Danish Parliament’s European Affairs Committee visited Croatia as part of their regional tour, which included visits to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, and Kosovo. They were received at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs by Assistant Minister Hrvoje Marušić. The Danish MPs wanted to know about Croatia’s position on the enlargement policy, possibility of cooperation between Croatia and Denmark within it, and EU prospects of certain countries in the region. Other topics included the monetary union, Schengen, EU coordination in Croatia as a new member, and achieving optimal balance between the competences of Brussels and member states. Marušić outlined the priorities of Croatia’s foreign policy in the upcoming period, pointing out the reform processes. He said the government was working on improving the investment climate, which should open the door for larger Danish investments. As the number one priority he pointed out Croatia’s preparations for entering the Schengen Area.
