Assistant Minister for European Affairs Hrvoje Marušić 18 November received a delegation of the Canada-Europe Parliamentary Association (CEPA), led by Chairman David Tilson

Assistant Minister for European Affairs Hrvoje Marušić 18 November received a delegation of the Canada-Europe Parliamentary Association (CEPA), led by Chairman David Tilson.

Marušić familiarized the delegation with Croatia’s EU negotiations experience, priorities within the EU, enlargement policy and support for the countries of Southeast Europe, as well as reforms aimed at attracting foreign investments and Croatia’s future plans in energy policy.

The Canadian side expressed their views on the topical issues in the EU-Canada relations, notably the Strategic Partnership Agreement (SPA) and the Trade Agreement (CETA). Given that the talks on CETA have recently been closed, the Canadians underlined that signing CETA would open up space for advancing economic cooperation between Canada and Croatia.

Members of CEPA also met with Head of Directorate Dubravka Plejić-Marković, with whom they discussed topics of mutual interest.
