The exhibition featured the photographs by a large number of forester authors, representing a retrospective of the exhibitions held annually in Croatia. The exhibition is being held as part of a series of projects directed at strengthening the Croatian-Finnish relations in forestry, forest management and cooperation in wood industry. Apart from the foresters’ photographs, the exhibition also features art works by Croatian children depicting their perception of the forest, while the exhibition’s opening saw a short performance by the children’s choir from the Croatian supplementary school in Finland.

This represents a continuation of the excellent cooperation between the Croatian Embassy in Helsinki and the Croatian Forest Research Institute, who thought joint lobbying have contributed to the founding of a regional office of the European Forest Institute (EFI) in Croatia and gained presidency of the EFI, as the most important international association in that area, for the 2011-2014 period.

The present parties were greeted by Croatian Ambassador in Helsinki Damir Kušen and Director of the Croatian Forest Research Institute Miroslav Benko, who presented in short the characteristic features and biodiversity of the Croatian forestry, as well as its increasingly important role on the international scene.
