Ambassador Željko Kuprešak presented actress Marija Crnobori with the Order of Croatian Danica with figure of Marko Marulić

Marija Crnobori was born in 1918 in Banjole near Pula. She studied to become a teacher in the Istrian Boarding School in Zagreb, where her acting talent was noticed. She graduated from the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb. As a student she performed in the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb, and after a short period of employment in the Croatian National Theatre in Rijeka, in 1947, at the invitation of Bojan Stupica and Elijo Finci, she joined the Yugoslav Drama Theatre in Belgrade, where she remains to date. She acted in numerous roles for which she was presented with the most important art awards.

Apart from the immediate family of Mrs Crnobori, the celebration that was held at the Embassy was attended by Nebojša Bradić, the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Serbia, Branko Cvejić, Director of the Yugoslav Drama Theatre, Jelena Lužina, a playwright and associate of the Istrian National Theatre in Pula, and employees of the Embassy.
