Ambassador Mirko Galić handed credentials to Prince Albert II of Monaco
Croatian Ambassador Mirko Galić handed on 6 December 2007 the originals of his credentials to Prince Albert II of Monaco, officially assuming the duty of the first ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Republic of Croatia to the Principality of Monaco, seated in the French Republic
Prince Albert II expressed a wish for further enhancement of the relations with Croatia, namely within projects concerning environmental protection, mine clearance, tourist co-operation, culture, and sports. He also expressed a wish for the strengthening of the overall co-operation between the two Mediterranean countries.
Ambassador Galić took the opportunity to communicate greetings from Croatian President Stjepan Mesić and Prime Minister Ivo Sanader, and invite Prince Albert II to visit Croatia the next year, which he gladly accepted.
Monaco’s Government Counsellor for External Relations and Foreign Affairs Minister Jean Pastorelli organised a ceremonial lunch honouring Ambassador Galić, which discussed the modalities of enhancing the co-operation between the two countries, in view of the fact that the official accreditation of a Croatian ambassador raised the level of mutual relations. The meetings also saw the presence of Croatian Honorary Consul to Monaco Jean Kerwat.
