Ambassador Madey signed the Additional Protocol to the Convention on Human Rights...

On 29 October 2003, Mr. Neven Madey, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Croatia with the Council of Europe, signed on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, the Additional Protocol to the Convention on Human Rights and Biomedicine concerning Transplantation of Organs and Tissues of Human Origin.

This legal instrument, which extends the principle of integrity, right and freedom with regard to the progress of science and medicine, was signed by Mr. Walter Schwimmer, Secretary General of the Council of Europe. The Republic of Croatia is among the first to sign this Protocol. It hereby accepts specific provisions related to the intents undertaken in order to increase donation of organs and tissues.
