Ambassador Ljerka Alajbeg handed Croatian Tourist Community award Zlatna Penkala to Belgian journalist

Croatian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium Ljerka Alajbeg ceremoniously handed 14 December 2005 in Brussels the Croatian Tourist Community award Zlatna Penkala (the Golden Pencil) to Belgian journalist Paul Jambers

Paul Jambers was awarded for a series of 13 TV shows, broadcast from October 2004 to mid-January 2005, that were recorded during his cruise of the Kvarner Bay and its islands and attracted the Belgian public’s attention with their combination of topical interviews with the notables from Belgium’s political, cultural, and public life against the backdrop of the Croatian coast and islands.

The ceremony took place on the day of the opening of the professional fail Bruxelles Travel Expo BTE, with the presence of the Croatian Ambassador to the European Communities, Branko Baričević.

The Zlatna Penkala award was first awarded in May 2005 to Belgian journalist Daniel Stevens in the written media category. The award is given to the best journalistic works in printed and electronic media on all markets where there are representative offices of the Croatian Tourist Community.
