Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to the United Kingdom Ivica Tomić presented October 13th 2009 to Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) Efthimios E. Mitropoulos credentials by which Croatian President Stjepan Mesić appoints him Permanent Representative of the Republic of Croatia to the IMO
The collocutors reviewed the priorities of the IMO. Since maritime environment protection is one of the key goals of the IMO, the collocutors expressed hope in the successful outcome of the pending UN conference on climate changes in Copenhagen. They also talked about the personnel issues within the Global Merchant Navy.
