With the support of the General Consulate of the Republic of Croatia in Hamburg, a group of 15 secondary school graduates and professors from the Blankenese Grammar School from Hamburg chose the Republic of Croatia for their graduation trip.

On 20 September 2003, they will come to a ten day visit to our country and are to visit Osijek, Vukovar, Zagreb, the Plitvice Lakes, Zadar, Kornati, Split and Dubrovnik. The goal is to familiarise pupils with the history and cultural and natural heritage of Croatia.

Their hosts in Osijek will be pupils of Osijek Language Schools, members of the Croatian-German Society and the Association of Danubian Donaudeutsche. During their stay in Zagreb, they are to visit the Croatian Parliament, meet Croatian MPs and to tour the city. In Split, the guests from Hamburg are to meet their peers in sport activities. Dubrovnik will be the last destination of their stay in Croatia. They will also visit Cavtat and the local Studio of the Croatian Television.

This group of pupils from Germany is not the first which, through the assistance of the Croatian diplomatic-consular missions, showed interest in our country. Bringing together of youth and getting familiar with historical and cultural heritage may significantly contribute to better understanding between the nations of the two friendly countries.
