34th regular meeting of Subregional Consulting Commission held at RACVIAC
In Zagreb, at the Regional Arms Control Verification and Implementation Assistance Centre (RACVIAC), 34th regular meeting of the Subregional Consulting Commission was held 10 March 2006, with the signing of the Amendments and Annexes to the Agreement on Subregional Arms Control, Section IV 1B of the General Framework Agreement for Peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina
On behalf of Croatia, the Agreement was signed by Assistant Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Pjer Šimunović. The signing ceremony saw all of the Agreement’s parties, personal envoy of the OSCE president, General Claudio Sampaolo, and members of the Contact Group countries.
The occasion for signing the Agreement was to harmonise it with the new Defence Law in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which transfers the defence issues from the entity onto the central administration bodies. Pursuant to that, Bosnia and Herzegovina will be a single party of the Agreement, composed of three constitutive nations.
The original Agreement was signed in Florence, 14 June 1996, and this year Florence will celebrate its 10th anniversary of signing and successful implementation.
