Minister Grlić Radman participates in Black Sea and Balkans Security Forum

Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman on Saturday participated via video link in the Black Sea and Balkans Security Forum 2021, one of the leading platforms on security, defence and international relations.

Grlić Radman took part together with Romanian Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu in a panel on “Challenges and Opportunities in the Post-Pandemic World”. In his keynote address, the minister said that the crisis had amplified the existing global challenges, notably threats to the international order and the values of democracy, freedom and rule of law.

“The EU, NATO and all member states have, through unity, solidarity and cooperation, to protect the common heritage that is the cornerstone for building a better and more secure future,” the minister said. He reflected on the transformative role that the EU and NATO play in our neighbourhood, strongly advocating the continuation of enlargement. “The integration of the countries in the region is the fastest way to stabilize Europe’s southeast, but it requires a strong will and commitment on the part of the candidates to a real implementation of reforms,” Grlić Radman underscored.
