Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Vesna Pusić in New York attended a meeting on mediation in the Mediterranean region, organised by Foreign Ministers Saad-Eddine El Othmani of Morocco and Jose Manuel Garcia-Margallo of Spain

Pusić said that mediation was becoming increasingly important as "a more effective and less expensive instrument in settling international disputes." Croatia supports mediation as an effective means of establishing dialogue and a negotiating framework, she added. The Mediterranean region today is more interconnected than ever before, and "we share the responsibility of seeking peaceful and viable solutions," Pusic said on the last day of her stay in New York.

Before returning to Croatia, Pusić attended the address by Prime Minister Zoran Milanović to the UN General Assembly.
