The draft budget of the EU for 2013, until Croatia's entry into the EU, envisages the opening of 280 new jobs that Croatian citizens will be eligible to apply for in several competitions to be published by EPSO. The published competition for Croatian translators, conference interpreters and lawyer linguists is only the first in a series of competitions. Candidates intending to participate in the selection procedure are required to register and fill out the application form on the EPSO website. Those meeting the set criteria will be invited for testing to be held in Croatia.

Candidates achieving the best results will be invited to the candidate evaluation centre in Brussels or Luxembourg where further testing will be held over one to two days. Those passing the selection procedure will not automatically be hired, but will be added to the database (Reserve List) via which the EU institutions and bodies contact candidates with employment invitations.
