The organisation of presidential elections is a significant step forward in the process of transition towards a free and democratic society, in which the civil, human and religious rights of all citizens are observed. We are certain that the process of democratic transition that has begun will continue and will include all political and social groups of Egyptian society, aimed at building stable institutions at all levels of government. With the organisation of these elections and a peaceful transition of power, Egypt has set an example of the importance of the unhindered unfolding of democratic processes as a condition for the stability of the entire Mediterranean and neighbouring regions.
