Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Gordan Jandroković met with Senator Didier Boulaud, member of French Senate’s European Affairs Committee and Vice-Chairman of Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defense and Armed Forces

The collocutors expressed satisfaction with the level of bilateral relations, which have reached strategic partnership. Minister Jandroković thanked France for the long-standing support in the European integration process and stressed its importance during the key moments of the negotiations’ final phase. He reiterated the Croatian government’s position to conclude the negotiations in June this year.

The minister also expressed satisfaction with the intensive parliamentary cooperation and announced his pending visit to the French Republic, as well as a meeting with his colleague Alain Juppé.

He said that Croatia remained dedicated to fulfilling all of the obligations regarding the accession process, proving its credibility and intent to be fully prepared for the membership in the Union.

Senator Boulaud reiterated the support of both of the French Parliament’s houses for Croatia’s joining the EU as soon as possible.

The meeting also discussed the state of affairs in South Eastern Europe and exchanged opinions about the situation in Middle East and North Africa.
