Minister Jandroković expressed satisfaction over the visit by the German and French parliamentary delegations, which are for the first time in this format jointly visiting a country in the context of EU accession. He also thanked Germany and France for their strong and continuous support for Croatia along its road to the full-fledged EU membership.

In that regard, he said that this year would be extremely important for Croatia, as it planned to close the negotiations by the end of its first half and then sign the Accession Treaty. The completion of Croatia’s negotiations has also been states as one of Hungary’s EU presidency priorities.

He pointed out Croatia’s determination to put forth additional efforts to finalize the necessary reforms, especially in regard to the justice system and public administration reform, continuing the combat against corruption, restructuring the shipbuilding industry and continuing the full cooperation with the ICTY.

Minister Jandroković also informed the delegation members about the activities concerning the Communication Strategy on informing the Croatian public about the EU accession and the preparations for the accession referendum.

Representatives of the parliamentary delegations communicated strong support of the German and French parliament for Croatia in these final stages of its negotiations, saying it would continue during the ratification of Croatia’s Accession Treaty. They pointed out that Croatia’s joining the EU would be the best proof of the success of its enlargement policy and the European project in general, as well as motivate the countries in the region to be even more determined in carrying out the reforms along their Euro-integration path.
