In his presentation before the large audience at The New York Palace hotel State Secretary Božinović outlined the current economic situation in the Republic of Croatia, as well as the activities related to the implementation of the Government program for economic recovery, and he invited U.S. investors to extend their trading activities and increase their investment in Croatia.

He particularly stressed that Croatia has a well-organised institutional legal framework that is currently being harmonised with European standards, and that the Government of the Republic of Croatia is making effort to maintain macroeconomic stability in order to, among other things, motivate and encourage foreign investors to invest in the Republic of Croatia. The Government of the Republic of Croatia has accelerated integration with Western institutions and increased chances of regional political stability and the stability of economic progress.

He said that Croatia entered into the Stabilisation and Association Agreement with the European Union, became a member of NATO, WTO and EFTA, and is about to become a member of the European Union.

Emphasising the importance of the Government program of economic recovery, State Secretary Božinović said that the program is focused on eliminating administrative barriers to foreign investors, setting up e-administration, implementing tax reform, reducing non-tax levies, justice reform, abolishing tax preferences, and resolutely fighting corruption.
