On Thursday, 16 September 2010, State Secretary for European Integration Andrej Plenković attended the panel discussion at Slavonski Brod on the subject of „EU – Challenges and Opportunities for Entrepreneurs and Tradesmen“.

In his presentation State Secretary Plenković described the current state of affairs in the negotiations between Croatia and EU concerning the accession to full membership of the European Union, and the activities related to informing Croatian citizens about the benefits of joining the EU.

Today's panel discussion was also attended by the chairperson of the Council for the Protection of Market Competition and a member of the Negotiating Group in charge of the negotiating chapter on Market Competition and Entrepreneurship and Industrial Policy, Olgica Spevec; Deputy State Secretary of the Central State Office for Development Strategy and Coordination of EU Funds, Zvonimir Savić; and the Head of SME Department of the Ministry for Economic Affairs, Labour and Entrepreneurship, Dragica Karajić.

The panel discussion took place at the Conference Hall of the Brod-Posavina County, organised by the County Council for European Integration and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.

On the occasion, State Secretary Plenković met with County Prefect Danijel Marušić and other leading representatives of the Brod-Posavina County.
