Minister Jandroković expressed satisfaction with his visit to the Hankuk University, the only one in Korea offering Croatian studies, with a long tradition of former students going on to become ambassadors and diplomats. The Croatian Language Department sees 20 odd students annually, and thanks to the good cooperation with the universities of Rijeka and Zagreb, professor and student exchanges take place.

Minister Jandroković delivered the lecture “The Position of Croatia in the Today World” before some 200 students. Apart from giving an overview of Croatia’s history and mentioning notable Croats, he pointed out Croatia’s two strategic foreign-policy goals: membership in NATO and the future EU membership. Striving for them, Croatia has undergone political, economic and social transformation, taking its well-earned place in the European family of nations, said the minister.

Given the experiences gained during that transformation, Croatia today serves as a bridge for the region of South Eastern Europe to the NATO and EU members. In that regard, the minister emphasized the importance of a common global action in order to rise to the challenges of our time, expressing satisfaction with the visit to Korea to strengthen the partnership with the countries of the Far East as well.

Most of the question about the cultural, political and economic ties between Croatia and Korea the students asked on Croatian.

Minister Jandroković took the opportunity to present the Croatian Language Department with dictionaries, books on Croatia and audiovisual materials, a donation by the Croatian Ministry of Science, Education and Sports.

In the afternoon, Minister Jandroković and members of the Croatian delegation visited Samsung Electronics, a part of the Korean multinational company Samsung, and discussed its present and future business activities in Croatia.
