Thanking the ambassadors for their professional and personal contribution in developing bilateral relations between their countries and the Republic of Croatia, on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Minister Jandroković and himself, State Secretary Božinović emphasized the fact that ambassadors filled their posts during a very important time for Croatia, in the period when Croatia joined the NATO as well as Croatian accession to the European Union.

In his speech, State Secretary Božinović stressed that relations between Croatia and Norway have developed in several directions during the mandate of Ambassador Terje Hague, and especially thanked the Norwegian Ambassador Hague for Norway’s years–long financial aid in the field of demining. Dutch Ambassador Catharina Maria Trooster witnessed a bilateral political, as well as economic takeoff of both countries, said Božinović. A special role in Croatia’s NATO accession was played by the Turkish Ambassador Umur Apaydin, since he was the head organiser of NATO summit in Istanbul, which was crucial for Croatia’s NATO accession. State Secretary Božinović also thanked Swiss Ambassador Erich Hermann Pircher for his contribution in the field of cultural and economic cooperation.
