Minister Jandroković congratulated Minister Hague for his position in the newly formed Government of the United Kingdom, and wished him success in the performance of his duties. The two parties expressed their conviction that the already excellent partner relations between the two countries would continue to develop successfully in the future as well. Extending special thanks to the support provided by the United Kingdom in the process of Croatian accession to the European Union, Minister Jandroković informed his colleague about the current status of accession negotiations. He also informed him about the activities undertaken by the Croatian side in order to open the remaining chapters until the end of the Spanish Presidency of the European Union, and stressed Croatia’s readiness to complete negotiations by the end of this year.

When discussing the current political situation in the region of South-East Europe, Minister Jandroković repeated the position of the Republic of Croatia that a clear and unambiguous support to South-East European countries on their path towards membership in Euro Atlantic integrations was of vital importance for the region’s prosperity.
