State Secretary Božinović said that the Republic of Croatia stood on the doorstep of membership of the European Union and that its geographic position, highly developed transport routes and sea ports, represent good potential entry points for the transport of goods of export oriented countries such as Argentina. Deputy Minister Taccetti proposed the examination of ways of using Croatian ports for the transport of goods from Argentina into individual parts of the European Union.

The two parties also agreed to intensify bilateral scientific cooperation, and exchanged opinions on the reform of the United Nations Security Council, Common Foreign and Security Policy of the European Union and opportunities in the region of South East Europe, and in the South America.

They emphasised the importance of numerous Croatian immigrants in Argentina who represent a bridge for cooperation between the two countries and might play an important role in the strengthening of trade cooperation.

Deputy Minister Taccetti gave a lecture in the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration on the current situation in Argentina and its foreign policy priorities.

He was also received by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Gordan Jandroković.
