Minister Gordan Jandroković held a bilateral meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Grigol Vashadze, on Tuesday, 1 December 2009, on the margins of the 17th meeting of the Ministerial Council of the OSCE members states

The collocutors expressed their pleasure with the very good bilateral relations. Minister Jandroković offered assistance in communicating Croatia’s experiences related to the process of Euro-Atlantic integration, and he informed his collocutor about the current status of Croatia’s negotiations for accession to the European Union. He expressed his support for Georgia’s aspirations for NATO membership, and he welcomed Georgia’s decision to send additional soldiers to Afghanistan under the UN ISAF mission. He added that the Republic of Croatia supported the right to autonomy, independence and territorial integrity of Georgia.

Minister Vashadze thanked Minister Jandroković for the offered assistance and informed his colleague about the situation in the region, and an important role of the European Union Monitoring Mission.

Ministers Jandroković and Vashadze also talked about extending and stepping up diplomatic activities by establishing a diplomatic office in Zagreb, and holding political consultations of the two Ministries. It was agreed that Minister Jandroković should visit Georgia, while the return visit of Minister Vashadze to the Republic of Croatia should take place in the second half of the next year.
