In the organisation of the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia to the Holy See, on Saturday 7 June 2009, the Holy Mass was held on the Croatian Diplomacy Day in the Croatian Church of St. Jerome in Rome to mark the Statehood Day of the Republic of Croatia
The Mass was attended by Croatian Ambassador to the Holy See Emilio Marin, Ambassador to the Republic of Italy Tomislav Vidošević, ambassadors accredited to the Holy See, diplomats and numerous Croats living in Rome

The Mass was celebrated by rector of the Papal Croatian Institute of St. Jerome Msgr. Jure Bogdan, concelebrated by the special Papal prelate of the Prefecture of the Papal House Msgr. Petar Rajič and Msgr. Henryk Jagodzinsky from the Secretariat of State of the Holy See in charge of Croatia and South East European countries, and around thirty Croatian priests.
The Mass for the Homeland on the occasion of the Statehood Day was held for the fifth consecutive year at the initiative of Ambassador Marin.
