The Order of Merit was bestowed upon Ambassador Marin by Decree of Grand Master and Sovereign Council of the Order of 3 December 2008.
The awarding ceremony was held at the headquarters of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta in Rome, in the presence of the highest officials of the Order, the Vatican officials and other distinguished guests. Grand Master Fra’ Matthew Festing presented Ambassador Marin with the Grand Cross, Sash and Diploma as insignia of this high order awarded “pro Merito Meliensi”.
