In his address Minister Gordan Jandroković underlined the importance of the efforts of the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia, as well as personal efforts of Ambassador Emilio Marin, Ph.D., in the field of culture and promotion of the Republic of Croatia in the Holy See
The affirmation of traditionally good relations was especially notable in the crucial moments of creation of an independent and autonomous Croatian state seeing that the Holy See was among the first to recognize Croatia as an independent state having thus initiated the unstoppable process of international recognition of Croatia, Minister Jandroković said.
He underlined the fact that the Holy See strongly supported the integration of Croatia within the European Union, never ceased to emphasize that Croatia was a part of the European civilization and culture, and especially valued the role of our country in the past, present and future of a united Europe.
The almanacs presented to the Croatian public today are the crowning achievement of the dedicated work of Ambassador Marin and the Croatian Embassy in Vatican on the promotion of Croatia, its values and national identity, and have been met with exceptional interest by the highest officials at the Vatican, ambassadors and diplomats, European, Italian and other cultural dignitaries, thus promoting the European tradition and culture of the Republic of Croatia in the best possible manner, Minister Gordan Jandroković concluded.
Besides Minister Jandroković, the almanacs were also presented by the almanac editor, Professor Emilio Marin, Dr. Sc., Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to the Holy See, members of the academic community and the diplomatic corps in Croatia.
