Croatian Ambassador to Belgium Ljerka Alajbeg and Luxembourg’s Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn signed the Agreement on Co-operation in Mine Action around the City of Petrinja and in Sisačko-Moslavačka county

Croatian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium Ljerka Alajbeg and the Foreign Minister of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Jean Asselborn, signed 14th November 2005 in Luxembourg, on behalf of their respective governments, the Agreement on Co-operation in Mine Action around the City of Petrinja and in Sisačko-Moslavačka county

The Luxembourgian Government thereby obliged to allocate 150,000 Euro to the Croatian Mine Action Center for the project entitled Petrinja, an area between the riverbank and Mile Wood Street.

This is the second mine action agreement signed in 2005 between the governments of the Republic of Croatia and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Since 2002, the Luxembourgian Government has financed six mine action projects in Croatia, with the overall worth of 650,000 Euro. All funds are paid directly to the account of the Croatian Mine Action Center, thereby assuming the engagement of the Croatian companies in mine clearance.
