The fourth expert seminar for economic counsellors held at the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry on July 29, 2005, in the organisation of the Division for the international economic co-operation

Division for the international economic co-operation at the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry organised in Zagreb, on Friday, July 29, 2005, the fourth expert seminar for economic counsellors of the diplomatic missions and consular offices of the Republic of Croatia

The first part of the seminar was held at premises of the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry. Assistant Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister David Sopta opened the seminar, and Assistant Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Damir Kušen addressed the participants, with an interactive discussion following. Head of the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development board of directors Anton Kovačev, Assistant Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship Minister Predraga Boic Ljubić, Croatian Privatisation Fund head Damir Ostović, and Financial Agency board of directors’ member Tomisalv Vintar also spoke at the seminar.

The second part of the seminar was held at the Croatian Chamber of Commerce, opened by the Chamber vice-president Dunja Konjevod, while the Chamber president Nadan Vidošević and the head of the Trade and Investment Promotion Agency Željko Kirinčić addressed the economic counsellors and other participants.

During the seminar, the work of the economic counsellors was considered, guidelines of their activities outlined, and the need for a more intense communication among the Croatian economic subjects, the ministries and other institutions in charge of the country's economy was stressed. Aiming at its further opening to public, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry's representatives spoke of a one-year expert course in "Economic Diplomacy", organised in order to develop the existing personnel’s potentials.
