Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović and State Secretary Hido Biščević met today, on May 18, 2005, State Department high commissioner for Central and South-Eastern Europe Kathleen Stephens

Commissioner Stephens emphasised the U.S.A.'s wish to help Croatia in its Euro-Atlantic integration process. Minister Grabar-Kitarović stressed the importance the Croatian government attached to relations with the U.S.A., assessing them as developing dynamically.

State Secretary Biščević reported to the U.S. side on the activities the Republic of Croatia was taking in order to become the EU and NATO member country. During the discussion, situation in the region was considered in detail, and the engagement of the Contact Group in solving the remaining open issues in South-Eastern Europe was welcomed.
