Mr Pjer Šimunovic, Assistant Minister for Multilateral Affairs and International Organizations in the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and European integration of the Republic of Croatia, took part in the 115th Meeting of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe that was held 16–17 November 2005 in Strasbourg.
He reiterated the determination of the Republic of Croatia to continue to actively support the ongoing joint efforts to consolidate the work of the CoE on the core activities. In that connection, he reconfirmed that Croatia will, for its part, do its utmost to secure efficiency of the European Court for Human Rights.
He stated, also, that Croatia which recently started accession negotiations with EU, pays particular attention to strengthen the co-operation within the European institutions designed for reinforcing European unity. The cooperation is to be boosted with the Memorandum of Understanding between the EU and the CoE that is currently in the process of preparation.
