Pusić on Obama''s address, Croatia''s contribution to fight against terrorism

(Hina) - The ammunition which the Croatian government has decided to donate to the United States will be used in the fight against Islamic State whereby Croatia will contribute to the fight against terrorism, Foreign and European Affairs Minister Vesna Pusic said in New York on Wednesday. "Our American partners have asked the Croatian government that the ammunition Zagreb has decided to donate to the U.S. be used in the fight against Islamic State... by doing so, we are contributing to the fight against terrorism," Pusic told Croatian reporters. PM Zoran Milanovic said in August that the government decided to donate weapons from the Croatian army"s reserves to the United States and that it had also previously sent surplus weapons to the United States. Pusic, who was attending the 69th session of the UN General Assembly with President Ivo Josipovic, made the statement after meetings held earlier in the day and US President Barrack Obama"s address on the world"s hot spots. "He was very harsh in his assessment of the role of the Russian Federation in the Ukraine conflict, but he absolutely called for negotiations," and "for the possibility to resolve conflicts diplomatically, through talks, and I believe that that opportunity should be used," said Pusic.
