On Monday, 5 August 2013, the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Croatia to the UN in New York, Ambassador Vladimir Drobnjak, presented his credentials to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon.

On Monday, 5 August 2013, the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Croatia to the UN in New York, Ambassador Vladimir Drobnjak, presented his credentials to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon. In short talks, the two officials underlined the long-stranding excellent cooperation between Croatia and the UN Secretariat and exchanged words of support for future endeavours. Ki-Moon recalled his last visit to Croatia and talks with top state officials, congratulating Drobnjak on Croatia's recent EU entry. Drobnjak outlined in short the chronology of Croatia's UN membership, from the time Croatia was a topic of the Security Council debates to the time when it was its non-permanent member to now, when Croatia is a member of the EU and takes equal part in the creation and implementation of its common foreign and security policy. The UN secretary general wished the Croatian ambassador welcome to New York and a successful term of office as Croatia's permanent representative to the UN.
