U.N. Security Council adopts resolution on Israeli-Palestinian peace process in the meeting chaired by H.E. dr. Ivo Sanader, Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia.
The UN Security Council adopted a resolution supporting the Israeli-Palestinian peace process began in Annapolis in 2007, and called for resuming negotiations next year, even after the end of the terms of Israeli and Palestinian leaders, in order to achieve a solution with the two states, Israel and Palestine.
The resolution was adopted at a ministerial session presided over by Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader, who stressed that the current peace process offered the best chances of achieving peace and that, therefore, one could not allow losing momentum and that the Annapolis process should be brought to a successful conclusion.
The peace process deserves the full support of the UN Security Council so that a solution could be implemented with the two states, democratic Palestine living by democratic Israel, which should lead to lasting and comprehensive peace in the Middle East, said Sanader.
