Mr. Ivan Vrdoljak, Minister of Economy of the Republic of Croatia, took part at the Informal Meeting of Energy Ministers of the EU held on 15 – 16 May in Athens. The EU Ministers discussed energy security, energy efficiency, infrastructure, financing projects of joint interest, and industrial competitiveness. The Minister took participated at the informal working lunch hosted by the UK Ministry of Energy and Climate Change. A bilateral meeting between Minister Vrdoljak and European Energy Commissioner Günther Oettinger took place. Minister Vrdoljak informed the Commissioner and the EU Ministers about the current state of the LNG project on the island of Krk, and expressed support for the EU joint efforts in creating a coherent energy policy, based on energy sources diversification, regional approach to energy security, and facilitating procedures for releasing EU financial funding aimed at energy projects.
