Croatian Ambassador Vesela Mrden Korac gave a lecture at the Croatian Language School of Ottawa on February 3rd, 2007.
On the initiation of Mr. Ivan Basar, President of the parent's committee of the Croatian Language School of Ottawa, Ambassador Mrden Korac gave a lecture to a class attending the school and familiarized the children with Croatian history, geography and Croatian national symbols as the flag, emblem and anthem.
At the beginning of the lecture, the children sang the Croatian national anthem. The Ambassador suggested the youngest children recite Croatian poems. On this occasion, all the students received a gift of the Croatian flag.
The young students viewed a video presentation on Croatian tourist treasures of their parent's homeland. Also present at the gathering was teacher, Mrs. Sandra Kusevic, the President of the parent's committee, Mr. Ivan Basar, the Croatian parish priest, Father Adam Tabak and the First Secretary of the Embassy of Croatia, Mr. Antun Mahnic.
