Over a hundred members of the Canadian-Croatian association, Branch office from Mississauga of the retired persons visited the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia on November 12, 2006.
Canadian-Croatian association of retired people is established back in 1995 with the aim to gather all Canadian retiree by the Croatian origine.
Croatian Ambassador to Canada Vesela Mrden Korac welcomed the guests and advised of the recent developments regarding the bilateral relations between Canada and Croatia. She also informed the guests of the activities that the Embassy is undertaking do enhance this relations in the fields of politics, economy, culture e.t.c. The Ambassador particularly stressed that the visa issue and the air trafic connections will be addressed as well. She also stressed the Embassy's building had been bought and reconstructed with a significant assistance by the Croatian community in Canada. The building itself is the part of the cultural heritage of the City of Ottawa and Croatian government is proud of this. In addition a refreshment was offerd to the guests.
