Elections in Croatia
On March 15, 2024, the President of the Republic of Croatia issued a Decision to call elections for members of the Croatian Parliament.
The elections will be held at the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Ottawa on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 16 and 17, 2024, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Ottawa informs all adult Croatian citizens residing in the area of the city of Ottawa and Carlton in the province of Ontario and in the area of the provinces of Alberta, British Columbia, New Brunswick, New Scotia, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Prince Edward Island, Quebec and Yukon, how they can exercise their right to vote in the elections for the Croatian Parliament at the Embassy of the Republic of Ottawa in Canada on April 16 and 17, 2024, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Voters who have been issued a Croatian e-identity card with a residence address outside the Republic of Croatia will be registered ex officio according to the address on the identity card. If they want to vote in the territory of another diplomatic-consular representation or in Croatia, they must submit a request to change their place of registration.
All other voters must first or must actively register to be able to vote at the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Ottawa on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 16 and 17, 2024, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
To vote at the Embassy in Ottawa, voters can register at the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Ottawa no later than Saturday, April 6, 2024. In the same period, voters can cancel or change their registration request.
All voters can check their registration in the voter register on the Ministry of Administration of the Republic of Croatia website (https://biraci.gov.hr/RegistarBiraca/), in state administration offices, in diplomatic missions and consular offices, and through the e-Citizens online system and request changes to possible incorrect data.
The request for prior and active voter registration is submitted in person (by mail or scanned by e-mail) to the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Ottawa.
