During the meeting with Croatian Ambassador Vesela Mrden Korac, views were exchanged on the state of human rights in Croatia and Canada. The Canadian delegate presented a report on human rights in Croatia and commended the recent advancements achieved in Croatia. He underlined how the focus of their interest and work emphasized on the rights and abuse of woman, in particular those of the Canadian aboriginal population, where violations are five times greater that the Canadian average.
Ambassador Vesela Mrden Korac highlighted Croatia's progress on human rights issues and pointed out that Croatia is one of the sixteen world leading countries with laws in their legal system for the protection and prevention of abuse of children. The need for further discussions and exchange of views on particular points has been established.
