Croatian Ambassador to Canada Vesela Mrden Korac handed her credentials on 3 November 2005 in Montreal to the Secretary General of the International Civil Aviation Organisation – ICAO, Taieb Chérif.
Ambassador Mrden Korac informed Secretary General Chérif about the current political situation in Croatia, with a special emphasis on the preparations for the negotiations on the so-called Common Sky.
Secretary General Chérif congratulated Croatia on its progress in the development of the civil aviation in its air space.
Croatia has been an ICAO member since 1992 and is regularly taking part in its General Assembly, and as a member of the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC), a regional organisation for Europe, is harmonising and advocating its positions.
ICAO Council's sessions, board meetings and numerous seminars organised on a regional and global level are opened for the Republic of Croatia.
Secretary General Chérif invited Ambassador Mrden Korac to attend the next Council's session, so that she could be presented to the Council's president and the representatives of the member countries.
