Pretoria is the headquarters of 121 diplomatic missions, making it the second-largest center of diplomatic corps in the world. Due to the large diplomatic corps, the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of the Republic of South Africa, Ronald Lamola, has a habit of holding meetings separately in four groups of European—American, Asian, African, and international organizations, in which all accredited ambassadors and heads of missions in the Republic of South Africa are divided.

On Friday, November 8, 2024, the Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation of the Republic of South Africa (DIRCO) hosted a meeting between Minister Ronald Lamola and Representatives and Heads of Diplomatic Missions of the European-American Group, whose Dean recently became Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia in the Republic of South Africa, Mr. Ante Cicvarić. In this capacity, Ambassador Cicvarić had the opportunity to address Minister Ronald Lamola and those present with an appropriate address, and during the reception, a short meeting was held between Amb. Cicvarić and Minister Lamola.
It is worth pointing out that the new role of Dean, Ambassador Cicvarić, in the European-American group strengthened the Republic of Croatia's visibility in the diplomatic corps and among officials of the Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation of the Republic of South Africa.
