Presentation of the Japanese translation of the book about Luka Modric “El hijo de la guerra“ (Son of War), published in Japan by Kanzen, was held on 12 November 2018 at the Auditorium of the Cervantes Institute in Tokyo. This is the second edition of the book written by Spanish sports journalists Vicente Azpitarte and Jose Manuel Puertas. The first edition of the book was translated to Croatian and published in 2016 under the name “Luka Modric: trnovit put do svjetske slave”.
Director of the Cervantes Institute Victor Ugarte, as well as Ambassadors of Spain and Croatia in Japan Jorge Toledo and Dražen Hrastic delivered introductory remarks, followed by the panel discussion. Authors of the book, FC Tokyo Verdy Spanish Manager Miguel Ángel Lotina, Japanese sports journalist Ichiro Ozawa and the president of the Real Madrid Fun Club in Japan Shigeki Kubota discussed the life and career of the captain of the Croatian National Soccer Team and answered question from the audience.
