Japan will host the famous Croatian folklore enseble LADO.
Organized by „Folklore Report“ and its General Director Mr. Tetsuo Masunaga, from February 8th to March 9th 2014, Japan will host the famous Croatian folklore enseble LADO.
LADO is a profesional national folk ensemble founded in 1949. in order to research, collecting, artistic processing and stage presentation the most beautiful examples of the rich Croatia music and dance tradition.

LADO is a profesional national folk ensemble founded in 1949. in order to research, collecting, artistic processing and stage presentation the most beautiful examples of the rich Croatia music and dance tradition.
LADO is an archaic Slavic word, ofter used asa refrain in an old ritual songs from Northwestern Croatia, a synonymum for good, kind and nice.
The Ensemble has a unique collection of original folk costumes of great value and beauty (more than 1200 sets), some of which are more than a hundred years old and it is rightfully called a „traveling museum“.
In Japan will perform 32 dancers and singers and 11 musicians. They will perform in 18 cities where they will hold 22 appearences and 7 workshops. The tour will begin with their performance in Tokyo and will continue in Kawasaki, Chiba, Nagoya, Gifu, Yamaguchi, Kumamoto, Kobe, Takamatsu, kyoto, Osaka, Nagano, Saitama, Kamakura, Maebashi, Sendai, Fukushima and Utsunomiya.
