25th Anniversary of Establishment of Diplomatic Relations with Japan and 5th Anniversary of joining the EU marked on Kyushu Island (Miyazaki, Saga, Nagasaki)

Japan-Croatia Friendship Association, headed by Shigemi Yoshida, Chairman of the Board of Memolead Group, organized the celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Croatia and Japan and the 5th Anniversary of Croatia joining the European Union. As part of the celebrations a capella group Klapa Kaleta from Zadar, Croatia held three concerts followed by gala dinners prepared by Croatian masterchef Hrvoje Zirojevic. The final concert and gala dinner on 18 March was attended by Seigo Kitamura Member of the Japanese parliament from Nagasaki, Tomihisa Taue, Mayor of Nagasaki and Dražen Hrastic, ambassador of Croatia to Japan, who all addressed the guest with congratulatory remarks on the occasion of milestone anniversaries. At the dinner the cooperation between the University of Nagasaki and the University of Zagreb was announced. Two students from Nagasaki will soon be going to Zagreb for a one year exchange programme at the Faculty of Agronomy. As part of the wider programme, Croatian products such as wines, olive oils and truffle products were presented. During his stay in Nagasaki, Ambassador Hrastic had an official meeting with mayor Taue and he donated a replica of the Vucedol Dove to the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum. In the entrance hall of the museum, as the only such artefact there is a metal origami donated by the City of Biograd. The Japanese tour of klapa and chef Zirojevic was realized with financial and organizational support of Memolead Group, Tokamachi City and Japan-Croatia Exchange Society from Osaka, founded and led by Jelena Yamasaki.
