In Bibliotheca Alexandrina on July 6, 2006 an the group exhibition “ the Croatian Lighthouses” was opened. In the presence of many guests the exhibition was opened by the Croatian Ambassador to Egypt, Mr. Dražen Margeta and Mr. Taher Khalifa, director of the Foreign Relations of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. On this occasion, H.E. Ambassador emphasized very good cooperation between the Croatian Embassy and Bibliotheca Alexandrina in last few years. He emphasized the symbolic meaning of the Exhibition being hosted in Alexandria. The most interesting details of the Exhibition were introduced by H.E. Ambassador to the prominent guests and it's aim to show the beauty of the Croatian lighthouses and to call attention to the problem of protection of cultural and historical heritage.

The exhibition was organized by non-governmental organization Plovput Society, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Croatia, Egyptian Ministry of Culture and Croatian Embassy in Cairo.
The opening was attended by artists, representatives of diplomatic corps in Alexandria, representatives of the media and Mrs. Tina Krce, Head of the Independent Department for International Cultural Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Croatia.
The Exhibition promotes the Republic of Croatia as tourist country with extraordinary natural environment and historical heritage. By it's opening, the celebration of 15 years of the independence of the Republic of Croatia is continued. The Exhibition continues till July 29, 2006.
