Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia in Cairo, Mr. Dražen Margeta, was received on March 1, 2009 by Minister of Culture of the Arab Republic of Egypt, H.E. Mr. Farouk Hosny. Both sides exchanged information regarding bilateral cultural cooperation and agreed that the signing of the Programme of bilateral Cultural Cooperation for next three years, will improve cultural relations between both countries.

Ambassador informed the Minister about the cultural activities of the Croatian artists at the important cultural events in Egypt such as Alexandria Biennale, Cairo Biennale, Cairo Film Festival, Festival of the Experimental Theaters in Cairo and Alexandria, International Film Festival for Children in Cairo etc. Both sides expressed their deep satisfaction about rich cultural cooperation between Croatia and Egypt. Minister Hosny also informed about his particular interest in Croatian art, especially in paintings, ceramic and plastic.
